A private background reference should describe a space, not compete with the source vehicle. Prepare the environment carefully before uploading it to your dealership’s studio.
Photograph the room without a vehicle
Choose an empty central bay with a clear floor and enough surrounding architecture to explain the space. Avoid using a photograph containing another car, a person or a large promotional sign. Those elements introduce competing references and may make the room harder to apply consistently. Keep a clean copy of the environment so the team can identify which reference is in use.
Leave room for different body styles
A narrow composition built around one compact car may not suit a large SUV or commercial van. Include generous floor space and avoid obstacles near the intended tyre area. Photograph from a natural height and keep the room level. The editor still needs to adapt the environment to each source angle, so simple, coherent architecture is a practical advantage.
Describe what matters in the setting
Use the reference description to explain floor material, wall tone, light direction and the features you want retained. Keep it factual and specific rather than asking for more luxury or better quality. Mention an unobstructed central area and neutral light where those are important. The uploaded image and description should establish the same environment rather than giving contradictory directions.
Test before sharing the style
Create a representative sample using your own vehicle photograph. Check floor perspective, paint colour and visible equipment before saving the background as a team preset. Repeat with another angle and a contrasting body colour. Hide an unsuitable private setting from new projects rather than letting colleagues assume that every uploaded reference has already passed a quality review.
Your dealer checklist.
- Use an empty environment with no competing vehicle.
- Include a broad, level floor and clear central bay.
- Describe actual materials and lighting.
- Test more than one vehicle and angle.
- Share only references that pass your review.
Common questions.
What image size should I upload?
MotorBackdrop’s private-background upload accepts an image at least 1600 × 1200 pixels, within the displayed file limits.
Can our uploaded showroom be public to other dealers?
Private background references belong to your organisation and are served through authenticated access rather than a public customer-media gallery.
